'Close to Wineries, Far from the Ordinary'

The Thompson House is also in an ideal location for day trips to Portland or the Oregon Coast, at a distance of 35 to 40 miles and less than 60 miles, respectively.

The federal-style Thompson House has been completely refurbished, with care being taken to maintain the rich historic character of the home. Echoes of the past are reflected in the exquisite mahogany woodwork, golden fir floors and delicate sconces. Modern updates include private, marble/granite bath with jetted tub for each suite/room.

The inn features five beautifully appointed rooms, all named for a flower or tree located on the grounds. The regal and romantic Rose Suite is named for America's favorite flower, celebrated every June in the Portland Rose Festival. Next is the Lavender Suite, a classically elegant room in blues and cream, imbued by the captivating fragrance of the cherished purple flower.

The Lilac Room and the Magnolia Room, the latter overlooking a majestic tree of the same name, share the upper floor of the inn. The Garden Room, on the main level, looks out toward the flowers and arbor in the backyard garden.

Premier king/queen mattresses, central air conditioning, wireless internet and satellite HDTV all are contemporary features of the inn. And to ensure energy efficiency, tank-less water heaters were installed during the refurbishing phase.

A full gourmet breakfast is served daily, which typically may include a refreshing Fresh Fruit Plate, Brie/Vegetable Omelet with Croissants and Oregon jams. Guests relish our famous Welch Cakes, served with espresso coffee or tea.
